UNINTERESTING

Jon? Uninteresting?? It's a complete impossibility.

It was an annoyingly uneventful day. I did absolutely nothing - - and I did it with astounding lethargy. I'm still in merciless pain from my back and shoulder, but I have no intention of going to a doctor. They do nothing more than dispense pills and send bills (hey, it rhymes).

I'm not into pills and I don't like bills. I've survived far worse things than this without the aid of a doctor. Yea, that's probably why I'm half-dead.

Spent several morning hours administering physical and mental therapy to my computer. It's called recuperation after virus. Have you ever heard of the Health Alert virus? No, I am not kidding, it really exists. And it's terrifying. Almost more terrifying than Obamacare.

Aw, settle down. I couldn't resist.

Better not make any more jokes like that Jon, or your blog followers will disown you. All two of them.

Heck, I know what it's like to be disowned. When I had my other blog, Lone Star Concerto, I made an innocent anti-Hillary remark and three followers abandoned me in one day. No lie.

Just concentrate on humoring us with your gay Hollywood stories and breathtaking piano videos, Jon. Everything will be all right.

By the way, Jonathan - nothing you say is ever exactly "innocent"......

(people who talk to themselves are extremely weird)

My cat Scruffy was spayed over a week ago. This afternoon I tried to remove the stitches but it was a complete impossibility. She wouldn't hold still for a second and I couldn't even locate the damn things. She bloodied my hands with her protesting claws (sounds like something out of a cheap romance novel, doesn't it?).

I'll have to bring her to the vet tomorrow. It will take half a dozen assistants wearing heavy work gloves to hold her down. And some leather restraints and probably a few sedatives.

I don't know why the vet didn't use dissolving stitches. After all, this is the twentieth century. Or the twenty-first century. Or whatever.

Today was an incredibly gorgeous day. Beautiful beyond belief. 70 degrees. Cloudless sky. Pure mountain air. Birds singing in trees. Wildflowers attempting to burgeon. Lazy wasps droning around.

It was exactly like a scene from one of those old, animated, Technicolor Disney movies. Well, all except for the droning wasps.

The sunset this evening was spectacular, with the crescent moon and Venus lingering overhead. I snapped a photo with my digital camera (sans flash). It turned out crappy but I posted it anyway.
The moon doesn't look crescent on the photo, it looks like a little wayward white blob.

The weather is warming up, all the snow has vanished, Easter is in the near future.

I think spring is here to stay.

  1. I like your sunset picture. Spring seems to have settled in here too.

  2. Hadn't heard of health alert virus, sounds annoying. Aren't you glad we're not a telepathic species? Think of the viruses we'd get from sociopathic anti-virus drummer-uppers. I like the photo, it has an aspect of peaceful change to it --spring is on the way. These are good times, Jon.

  3. I'm glad your spring has sprung. Send me some of that 70 degree weather, would you? Had 4 inches of snow here yesterday. You are right dissolving stitches would have made alot more sense. I'm surprised Scruffy has not ripped them out with her teeth already.

  4. Hippity hoppitiy spring is on it's way.
There should be a special punishment for the people who create and spread computer viruses, kind of like what the vet did for your cat, but without the antithetic.

  5. Jon,
You are always interesting and I'm sure I'm not the only follower of your blog who has this opinion. I'm so sorry that your back is still giving you pain. Something like that takes away some of the pleasure of enjoying a beautiful spring day or evening sunset. I do hope your back pain eventually subsides.
You taking out Scruffy's stitches? That something even I wouldn't attempt. Man oh man, no way. All you need is to get an infection from her clawing.
You know we both have differing political opinions but that doesn't affect my friendship with you or even my respect for you. I am of the firm believe that eventually you'll see the light and join the Hillary for President campaign (big smile). Hey, some of my best friends (in fact almost all of them) are conservative Republicans. Heck, I even used to be one myself until George W. Bush cured me. But enough politics.
It's good to read that you took the time to do nothing and just lie back and take in the ambiance of the beautiful place where you now live. It only gets betters Jon. So much different than West Texas.

  6. Those type sunsets look like a blazing fire, such intense color. I hope your pain eases soon. Hard to enjoy anything when you are suffering. Take it easy, Sheila

  7. It looks like I'm following Sheila around. (smile) Your sunset picture is beautiful sad to say too many trees around my house you can't see a sun set. I hope you get better soon as the old saying your body will heal itself. I hope it will for you, and yes they say rest will help and glad you took a day to rest. Take care. Jean

  8. That sunset picture almost makes me imagine a wildfire. (Well, given your past life in California, I'm sure that's an unsettling analogy ... sorry.)
Glad to hear Mother Nature is finally coming around to her senses. Happy Spring!

  9. Lovely photo even if not technically perfect. I am sorry your back is still giving you hell. Maybe a physiotherapist might be more useful than a doctor, although I have my doubts about their effectiveness too. ....
Still it sounds as if your surroundings have become more rewarding now the winter's gone. I hope the wasps head west sometime soon.

I love comments. Go ahead and leave one - I won't bite. But make sure you have a rabies shot just in case.
