AMERICA HAS SPOKEN

You knew I wasn't going to miss this opportunity to rub salt into your wounds.

I'm sure I'll lose 95 percent of my readers after this post but - what the hell - life is tough.

America has spoken!
Donald John Trump will be our next president!

Cheer up and look at the bright side:

You've had nearly forty years of Hillary. It's high time to take the nag out to pasture and give her a rest. Just relax, sit back, and savor all the sweet Hillary memories.

I have a lot more to say (as if you couldn't guess) but I'll save it for another time - - after you've calmed down and partially recovered from the jolting shock of  bitter defeat.

Am I gloating? Hell, no. I'm a sweet, compassionate, completely benign type of guy. I'll merely say this (in a gentle non-offensive whisper):

This has been the happiest night of my life - - except for the night when I lost my virginity.

Yea, I know - - some of you skeptics are surprised to hear that I did lose my virginity, aren't you?

  1. Cogent post, Jon, except where you compare a loss of virginity to this night when America lost its sanity. However, California has legalized recreational marijuana on the same ballot, which should reduce our shouts of outrage to sporadic blurts of "Oh Wow!"

  3. Well as you know, I didn't like either of them. Both ran good campaigns, but I feel both parties had wrong candidates. What I feared of him winning is neither party liked him, so how will he get anything done with the votes? With him, I don't think it will get worst, I think things will just stand still. But I hate politicians on both sides, and don't trust many. He may gain my trust he he says what he will about everybody bring included. But with the election aside, I never liked him since reading his book and in general. I happy with writing in RuPaul.

    1. Maddie, I'm pretty sure the reason Trump won is because of what you said "I hate politicians" Everyone now hates all of them and Trump was the only one NOT a politician.

  4. From the beginning, this election reminded me of the Nixon 1972 re-election when the great "silent majority" voted him in for a second, scandal ridden term. I always felt Trump had more supporters than we thought. I thought people who supported him were playing it close to the chest and would just walk in and cast their vote accordingly.
I'm a Democrat. I didn't "like" Hillary, but I held my nose and voted for her because I disliked Trump more.
What's done is done. The American people, in their wisdom, have provided a Republican Senate and Congress to keep him ranged in. The Germans tried that with Hitler, just an observation, nothing more than that.
As a Roosevelt Democrat, I remember what that great man said during his first of four consecutive inaugurations in 1933 when 1/3 of the nation was ill fed, ill clothed, ill housed and unemployed; This nation will endure as it has endured. I think we have a lot of enduring to do in our future.

  5. I won't stop reading but I disagree...
The man is an idiot, a homophobe, a racist , a liar , a masogonist , and bully.
He has capitalised upon fear and like so many times in our shared history he had blamed others and promised things he cannot deliver.
    America needs statesmen
The world is laughing at him and crying for his. Country

    1. John, the world has been laughing at us ever since Barry Obama got elected. At least we will finally have a president who loves America.

    2. Obama...in the eyes of the British ( a country he isn't fond of) seems to be a highly respected statesman

  6. I think you may be up for a cabinet post in the trump administration, Jon. SecInt, your first task will be organization the 'camps' to put the undesirables in before they either are deported or 'disappeared'. Do enjoy, you two sound like a good match.

    1. I think that's a bit harsh. Jon is a sweet guy with morals and ethics, and he (like the rest of us) had to choose between the lesser of two evils. Also, he stated in another post that he does not vote, so he cannot be blamed for the results of this insane election.

    2. Jeesh. Someone's Cheerios got peed on. Thanks for taking up for our Jon, Dylan.

    4. Dana and Dylan - - Mike is always harsh on me. I'm probably one of the many people he loves to hate.

    5. PLUS, it shows who is willing to take him to the mat for you. Dylan and I seem to have your back. Who's got mine and Dylan's? xoxo

    6. Why Jon, I'm shocked, shocked! Read my post again, to suggest someone should be in a cabinet administration of a president is a compliment to the highest degree! My goodness, man. When I say I see in you many, most of the qualities of our president-elect, how can that be construed as anything but the highest praise?
You misread me entirely, and for that I do so apologize. It must have been some phrasing on my part that didn't cross the cultural divide that separates us.
      Ta,
      Mike

    7. Well, I do appreciate the compliment, but it sounded rather sarcastic. I actually dislike anything to do with politics...and I wouldn't be good at all in a cabinet administration.

    8. Man, I gotta laugh. "Well, I do appreciate the compliment, but it sounded rather sarcastic. No! You gotta be kidding!! You fuckin' figured it out!
Jon, what I was sincere about was how alike you and the asshole we've elected president are.
Jesus, you are like shooting fish in a barrel. Seems almost unfair, like a knife to a gunfight.
Jon, you are a .22 mind, in a .357 magnum world.
      Cheers,
      Mike

    9. Mike, you get such a sadistic kick out of trashing and insulting me that I was merely trying to ignore it and be nice. I'm a HELLUVA lot more intelligent than you ever give me credit for....and I think it unnerves you.

I notice that when I write great posts you never bother to comment, but when I write about politics (which ruffles your feathers) you're the first one to cast stones.
      You're actually pathetic...and possibly envious....

What kind of medications are you on???

  7. Honey, You don't have to gloat. I'm gloating enough for both of us. FINALLY the working class white cowards banded together to stop the reverse racism that Shillery would have continued for another four years. I have to admit that, as retired worker bees, most of us would have suffered to be forced to support more illegals. The only thing left would have been our social security.

Hillary is a vindictive bitch with too many plans for vengeance and her happy dance would have been constant. I bet that the one person most relieved that she got her ass handed back to her is Bill.

Just a warning here: After I get my shoulder operated on, I'll be unable to type for six weeks.

    2. WARPed, after 8 years getting fleeced in order to keep the BLMs and illegals fed and tattooed, there's nothing left BUT our social security. Another four years of the Obama regime would have guaranteed a more thorough shakedown.

  8. We will see how things are going to get changed since Trump will be our president. We never no he could be the best one we've had in years. I’m hoping he can do all he has promised. I really didn't vote this time not because of any dislikes. I just couldn't walk and stand all that long. Take care. Jean

    1. Jean, I've never voted in my entire life - - but I think Hillary is the most corrupt woman in American history.

  9. I agree about her being corrupt. You should vote.

  10. Jon,
I do agree that I'm glad that the Clinton's gone

  11. Even as late as mid-day, I had to question whether I'd dreamt the results!
Sure and I'm the first to admit, I've taken this election far too seriously ... but it was a real struggle to compose myself this morning and drag my sleep-deprived carcass to work.

I don't remember being this optimistic in a very, very long time.

    2. Didn't trump insist that the vote was rigged?
      Perhaps he was right

    3. Trump accurately said the whole SYSTEM is rigged. Ironically, now the Hillary supporters are complaining that the voting is rigged.

    4. I do believe that because of Obamacare and its high deductibles, the average American felt that the CEO's were taking them for a ride for their money. I give credit for Trump for how he marketed himself to his working class base. About 66% of eligible voters voted and therefore his win is only 50% of this 66%. He won with about 1/3 of the total American Count of eligible voters. Don't forget that Washington is about compromise. In 2 years, he could become a lame duck President, if in 2018, the Dems. overtake the Senate and the House. The margin now is a slim one. Obamacare failed because there was not a low cost government option. Clinton lost because of Bernie; her momentum became stalled and divided the party. Bernie, one day will have to admit he bares blame for Trump's victory. A divided party can not hold its house. The Republicans and the Democrats were both divided and therefore Trump seized upon this voter apathy. What worries me about Trump is his leadership skills, he should have dropped Christie as his head hunter. I do believe that early voting is not a safety net. If you vote on election day, your vote is more secure because of the monitoring.
