CREEPY SANTA

He knows when you are sleeping,
he knows when you're awake,
he seems to be a stalker
and that's creepy, for goodness sake!

Here is a selection of weird Santas that could induce unpleasant dreams.....

I'm not quite sure how to interpret this one, but I suppose if you're going to let a big guy sit on your lap he might as well wear hot shorts and know how to blow a saxophone.

Don't look now, but St. Nick seems to be taking a dump on your roof

Santa from Hell. Look at the dirt and grime on those work gloves!

I don't know what's more horrifying - - that Santa or those two nightmarish things lurking behind him.

A bow-legged Santa flanked by two giant rats on wheels.

I'd rather not venture a guess as to exactly what he's doing.....

 The joyous spirit of Christmas

Pssst! Kids! I'm not positive, but he might be dead

Dear God - - it's Mother Superior on hormones! (steroids?)

Claus consulting with a couple of two-bit street tramps.

 Hirsute Santa

 ???
Occasionally I'm too stunned for words

If it has a purse and a bust like Lillian Russell, it just might be Mrs. Claus......

Doesn't he look a little young to be Santa? And doesn't she look a little old to be on Santa's lap? I'll keep the rest of my observations to myself. I wouldn't want to rouse the wrath of the KKK.....

 It's not Christmas
and this ain't Santa
Call 911!!!

Hey - -  didn't we just see this same Santa with a different saxophone guy in a previous photo? I don't know how that old bearded bozo manages to attract so many cute sax blowers......maybe it's the red suit??

I always like to end on a happy, positive note

P.S.
I took this post from my old blog Cabinet of Curious Treasures, which is now discontinued.

  1. Dear God, what is with those sax players? The two-bit street tramps comment cracked me the hell up, Jon. By any chance, are you a David Sedaris fan? I try to read his collection, 'Holidays on Ice' this time every year. Makes the holidays much more joyous for me. Lol!

    1. I'm surprised at how many truly bizarre Santa photos are circulating on the Internet. I can't figure out if those sax players are a joke or legitimate. They look European to me.
Santa with the street tramps is one of my favorites. Hilarious.

I had to Google David Sedaris - I think I'd enjoy his writing.

  2. Interesting photos, not say the least... As for your rant about Walmart, one of the last times I was in the store, right after they stopped selling handguns and military grade ammo, I became so flustered with shoppers and staff (or the lack of staff), I decided it was a good thing they'd stopped selling such products (for who--but the Utah legislature--thinks it is a good idea to have guns in mental institutions.

    1. Shopping in Walmart is so frustrating, that at times I'm sure it could make pacifists consider carrying guns - especially at this time of year.

    1. Good Gawd, it's difficult to decide which ones are the most disturbing. The sax player photos are particularly weird.

  4. That guy with the saxophone is creepier than Santa by a long shot! In the first picture it looks like his pants are down around his ankles!

    1. Rita, you're very observant. I never noticed that until you mentioned it. That's extremely disturbing. I can't figure out if those sax photos were intended as a joke, or what?? Very strange.....

  5. I'm SO glad my parents never let me believe Santa Claus was anything but a myth! I've a couple early 50's shots where I appeared to be terrified of the not-so-jolly Claus. Seriously, Jon, these are some of your creepier images. I'm guessing not all were taken in the good old USA?
PS - My heart goes out to that sweet baby boy in your third photograph. Wondering what kind of parents would let that Santa touch their child.

    1. It's amazing (horrifying, really) at how many creepy Santa Claus and Easter Bunny photos can be found on the Internet. Many are vintage and some seem to be European (those creepy sax players look foreign to me).

I was never scared of Santa when I was a kid......but I never encountered any scary ones.

    1. I'm shocked at how many terrifying Santas there are - especially those vintage ones. It almost seems that they are intentionally made to look scary.
I always have fun searching for creepy holiday photos on the Internet.

Hey, did you find another little Xmas tree? Let us know.

  7. I'm more disturbed by the sax players than the Santa. Some of those other ones are alien or extremely creepy!

    1. Those sax player photos are genuinely bizarre and quite disturbing. I don't know if they were intended to be "humorous" or what?? I suspect that they're European.

  8. Creepy!! I don't remember ever seeing a Santa Claus (maybe once at school) when I was growing up. I always knew there wasn't a real one. Away back in the country we never cared.I'm just glad I did t see these flecks it would have stunt my growth. You take care Jon,and hope you have a good Christmas.

    1. I saw numerous Santas when I was a kid, but none of them were scary. These creepy Santas would have scared the living jeeters out of me! I can't imagine subjecting innocent children to such traumatic things.

      You take care, too, Jean.

    1. Dylan, Friday the 13th seems a very appropriate day for my birthday. I'll probably do a birthday post on my blog.

Your hugs and good wishes are greatly appreciated (I need them!)

  10. I always wondered why kids cried when meeting Santa.

Seeing those pics made me thankful I never met the guy. The only one I ever saw was my Dad dressed up but I knew it was him so all was well.

    1. Valerie, I can't understand why there are so many weird and frightening Santas - and why parents would subject their children to such things. Christmas is supposed to be a pleasant, happy season.
