I'll offer the music first. You've heard it before, but I like encores. Winter music. Snow. Sleighs. Reindeer.
The audio is crappy, but just ignore it.
"Troika", November from "The Seasons" by Tchaikovsky. I made the video and I am the pianist. Just in case skeptic trolls think I'm faking.
I'm brilliant. Why should I fake it?
(he snickers to himself....)
Christmas means nothing to me. I won't be home. I have no freedom, no life. Nothing. I'm hanging on by a thread, hoping that somehow I'll make it.
Here I am, trapped in the so-called Waters Nursing Facility in Gainsboro for physical therapy. My insurance is running out....this is about the only place that will now accept me.
A hellish dump. Small, over-crowded, completely chaotic. No schedules or rationality. People coming and going in my room day and night. Nurses, doctors, nurse's aides, social workers, wound care, psychiatrists (I'll need one soon) - - patients yelling and screaming - - constant noise and clamor.
The food is appalling. Looks like a five-year-old devised it. I'm afraid to eat it.....but the coffee is good.
I never ever know when a physical therapist will show up. There are many. Some are crap, others are good. My legs were paralyzed, my knees won't bend. They are getting my legs to move and my knees are slowly bending.
Slow slow painful progress but I'm trying....trying...
There was a huge ruckus today about my having a doctor appointment in Cookeville at 1:00. I completely denied it and refused to go.
I kept getting these emails that informed me that I had an appointment on the 16th (today)....only providing an address...and no doctor's name.
I was VERY skeptical. I did online research and found out it's a scam.
Bogus email doctor appointments in Tennessee are rampant.
Glad that's over!
The guys who maintain my two acre property have been doing it for free, to help me out when I'm away from home.
They are extremely nice and helpful. Today I mailed them a check - - and told them to be sure to cash it.
I'm a nice guy.
But you already knew that.
Well, I hope you're all preparing for Christmas. I read your blogs and enjoy hearing what you're doing.
I'll post some Christmas reruns....and, of course, I'll keep updating.
Jon, completely depressed and miserable
but still loving you ❤️☃️🌲☃️
This is my only chance for PT.....
ReplyDeleteI'd hate to see these guys work for free. I'd feel guilty if I didn't give them something substantial.
You have been through the wringer my friend, but you have never given up, like a true warrior, just keep on hanging in there. I truly hope that the PT people can get your legs working properly, how frustrating that must be.
ReplyDeleteYour recognition of the men who have been taking care of your property was a noble act, I admire your kindness.
Hang in there Jon, you owe it to yourself.
Hugs,
Jo
Jo, I have been through so much during these past few years that my wesry muddled mind can't even comprehend it. All I can do is to not look back and just push myself forward.
DeleteI couldn't ignore the kindness of the guys who maintsin my property. I would feel guilty.
Weary, not wesry
DeleteWe love you too! Thank you so much for writing. I’m glad you have guys taking care of your property. ❤️
ReplyDeleteThat's sweet of you, I really appreciate it. My property would be a complete jungle if it wasn't for the help of these guys. I would feel guilty if I let them do it for free.
Deletethecontemplativecat here. You are living a hellish place, but you produced this beautiful music. It doesn't matter if it was performed by the Jon of decades ago, or yesterday. You created something of beauty, Thank you for posting this. You are loved by all the bloggers who follow you.
ReplyDeleteThat's such a nice compliment, thank you! I recorded that music on a cassette tape long ago, and I made the video a few years ago. It didn't turn out too bad. I'm greatful that you appreciate it.
DeleteDespite being in an incomprehensible awful facility, you still find joy in music and enjoy sharing with others, Jon, and that is your gift to us. Also, you will have brought joy to those tending your property.
ReplyDeleteI never thought I had brought joy to anyone, but I truly appreciate that new aspect. Thanks, Dorothy!
DeleteThe music of Tchaikovsky and video are beautiful. Thank you. I've been listening to the Nutcracker and watching the ballet on DVD. Tis the season, even if many other things are awry.
ReplyDeleteThat's so kind and thoughtful of you to reward the men taking care of your property considering the situation you're in. That's also kind of them for doing it. I hope you're home soon to enjoy your beautiful views and getting out of that crap hole of a nursing facility. I'm sure there's a few good folks there....but....
Good luck with the PT and I'm hoping it gets you back on your feet to flee said premises.
Keep on keeping on, Jon.
Paranormal John
The Nutcracker is superb, but there are so many versions on YouTube that I get confused. My favorite production is I think the 2008 performance of the San Francisco Ballet, taking place during the 1915 World's Fair.
DeleteI would really guilty if I didn't pay those guys for doing two acres for free. They
I got rudely interrupted, as usual. Those two Latino guys have a good business in Jamestown. I'd feel guilty if I didn't pay them for all their hard work.
DeleteI don't know if I can emerge from here alive....but I'll try....
I love that video, Jon! So refreshing v. all the canned, main-stream songs being force-fed; I want to buy a pair of insulated ear mugs.
ReplyDeleteYour Christmas spirit -- evident in sending those men a check -- has touched my heart. I'd love to see the looks on their faces when they open your envelope.
Thank you, Myra. The video isn't great (I'm very critical) but it at least brings a touch of winter to us. I love the reindeer.
DeleteI've been meaning to pay those guys and I'm very glad I finally did.
