I'll get to the French Fries later.
I'm still unnerved over the ugly encounter I had with my psychotic roommate last Saturday night. I knew he was crazy, but I never thought he'd get physical - - in an unromantic way.
(I'm trying to be funny.....in case you didn't notice).
Today I reported the incident to my Jamestown Signature Health Care social worker, Tira (not her real name).
She gave me a number to call for help concerning my roommate.
She also said that my transfer is being held up solely because my Gainesboro social worker never sent my papers. Tira's going to contact the administration about this.
I knew the dolts here in Gainesboro would screw this up.
To be continued.
French Fries, anyone?
I was furious at the appalling lunch we were subjected to today.
Three ice cold "chicken" nuggets (it might have been chicken).
An old disgusting dinner roll.
And cold French fries, so rock hard that I couldn't eat them.
I got so disgusted that I jabbed the fries into the dinner roll.
Here's the result:
I told the young lady who took the tray to make the cook eat it. She thought it was funny.
Perhaps I'm getting deranged.
Naw. Not a possibility.
Two books that were delivered here last Thursday, were finally brought to me today.
I have been faithfully reading the Farmer's Almanac since I was about sixteen. In recent years I forgot it. I decided to order it. No longer $2.95. It was over $8.00. I love the fact that the Almanac never changed......except for the price.
I have all of Laura Ingalls Wilder's books. And a 500 page book of her letters. She was an extraordinary lady. This book is a compilation of the journals and letters that she wrote when she traveled.
Few people know that she lived in the Missouri Ozarks for 64 years. She and her husband Almanzo built a wonderful house all by themselves. It's now a museum and is kept exactly as it was when she lived there (in Mansfield, MO). I visited there numerous times, when I lived in the Ozarks (with my errant lover.....which is another long story that you wouldn't want to hear).
Okay, you've all seen these, but I took new photos (which didn't turn out very well).
Some of my artifacts from ancient Egypt. Purchased from an archaeologist and Egyptologist in Canada. These items were excavated near Luxor, Egypt, and the date is approximately 14 AD or 13 AD. From a private collection.
I have two Holly Owl amulets, symbols of wisdom. These are all made of stone with traces of the typical Egyptian faience glaze.
My favorite, the cat Bastet, Goddess of Pleasure
An ancient scarab - - mounted on copper in the 1920s. I put it on a black chain.
I have several more, but I'll spare you.
Why the heck do I purchase these things? I love ancient artifacts. I like to hold them, gaze at them. They give positive vibes.....which is what I need.
Jon, escaped to Cairoπͺπͺπͺ
❤️ why do I always use these hearts?
When I think of you, I feel love ❤️

❤️π❤️π❤️π❤️π❤️π
ReplyDeleteI can feel the love. Thank you. π
DeleteYou're so wise to provide yourself with the pleasure of these artworks. They're lovely.
ReplyDeleteLiz, it's about all I have left.
DeleteJon,
ReplyDeleteUnbelievable, that food that was delivered to you. I understand why you like those ancient Egyptian amulets and things. Maybe in one of your previous lives you lived in Egypt. I feel that way about unusual items too. I hope you can get out and enjoy some Spring weather.
Ron
The food is always horrible here. Thank goodness I can order from Walmart. I am gaining weight.
DeleteI always been sentimental with antiques and family heirlooms, and I'm sure you are, too. The weather has really warmed up here, in the 80s this week.
Not a vegetable in sight. They believe in healthy meals, don't they.
ReplyDeleteThey are the worst meals I've ever seen. No fresh vegetables ever, no milk. Many times they are mystery meals - - I honestly can't guess what the "food" is. Sometimes it looks like dog food.
DeleteWho knows???
I love that despite everything the universe is throwing at you, you still take great enjoyment in finding and collecting these ancient artifacts. That Laura Ingalls Wilder book sounds mighty intriguing; I may see if our library network can't procure a copy.
ReplyDeleteStill praying!
Artifacts are about my only pleasure right now, besides reading and writing. Your library network might have some Laura Ingalls Wilder books.
DeleteI still desperately need prayers. Thanks, Myra.
That was the grossest plate of....food(?) I've seen in a long time. Garbage. That's disgusting they're actually serving that to patients who have no choice but to eat it. I hope you're making notes, Jon. The powers-that-be needs to hear this stuff. I'm glad you were given a number to call regarding your mentally challenged roommate who attacked you. Documentation is paramount. Specific documentation.
ReplyDeleteYour antiquities are awesome. The cats are really appealing. The Farmer's Almanac is always intriguing to me. Those are fun to read.
Good luck with your transfer and hopefully that place gets their shit together. How does that facility ever pass inspections???
Paranormal John
Once in awhile decent food appears here, but usually it's disgusting garbage. I was outraged by the French fries meal. At least I got some artwork with it.
DeleteI've been doing some documentation and taking photos. I'm praying for my transfer. Every minute here is a waste of time.
My sister and a friend ate at a restaurant many many years ago. They took a couple bites and left a note on their napkins “We can’t eat this, see if you can!” Got up, paid their bill, and walked out! I always laugh when I think of that!
ReplyDeleteStill checking on you daily and always hoping for some good news! Pat/Texas
That is really funny - - and it sounds exactly what my father would have done. He never put up with any crap.
DeleteThanks for thinking of me, Pat. It means a lot.
Luv your Egyptian artifacts and the trusty Old Farmers Almanac.
ReplyDeleteMy great great grandfather lived in the Ozarks of South Missouri, he served in the Union Army from 1862-1865 with 7th Regiment Missouri State Militia Calvary.
Small world, I always thought the Ingalls lived in Iowa, Nebraska or Kansas.
Can’t believe the food they’re serving you, as the medical profession is always telling us to eat a very proper diet.
And that heart attack shit on a plate is no proper diet !
Jon, sending Vulcan vibes your way :)

I loved the Ozarks, it's has an intoxicating haunting intrigue. I lived outside of Springfield, near Wilson's Creek (the historic battlefield).
DeleteThe food here is horrifying. I shudder ever time they bring a dinner tray.
I need Vulcan vibes.
The Ingalls did live in a lot of places when Laura was young, but she and Almanzo settled down when they were married. Laura chose the spot where they built their house in the Ozarks. It's beautiful there.
DeleteI Love seeing your Ancient Egyptian Artifact Collection. I do think they have Vibes and so much History. Just think of the Hands that held them and the Artisan who Created them Eons ago. I have a Love of Old too.
