So, what is the continuation of my miserable saga?
I recently got a schedule for my ride to Cookeville on Tuesday the 16th. I'll be in radiology, where they'll measure and photograph the cancerous "wound"on my arm. Hope it doesn't hemorrhage.
I don't know when the radiation treatments will begin, but I'll encourage them to speed it up.
Five days of radiation. In the summer of 2023 I had seven weeks of radiation, in the same place.
I've been holding my temper. Everything has been plagued with incompetence and incredible sluggishness. Two concerned nurses are contacting the radiation dept. on my behalf.
In the next few weeks, I'm going to force the Dragon Leaders for a discharge so I can go home.
Currently I'm in rotten shape. Extremely low blood pressure and chronic fatigue. Last night (Saturday) my blood pressure was so low (44) that nurses were alarmed. Sometimes I feel like passing out. Loss of blood.......might be the reason.
This morning (Sunday) was a disaster. My arm was bleeding (againagainagain). I pressed the bedside call button. No one showed up until after an hour! I had to ask the cleaning lady to get help.
Later in the day I had another bleeding episode.
Breakfast was appalling. The milk was sour. Cranberry juice tasted like cleaning fluid - - it burned my throat, had to spit it out.
These are no exaggerations.
If I stay here my death will be hastened. I'd be better off at home.
Home
Forest, nature, autumn leaves, deer, squirrels,......(snakes)......peace, privacy, freedom, groceries delivered, whoknowsmaybesomecats.
Heck, I deserve these luxuries.
Speaking of luxuries
I went on another online shopping spree. More ancient treasures. And why not? I've been a collectionneur d'antiquiets since I was twenty.
My passion hasn't waned. I ain't rich, but I presently have enough $ in the bank to satisfy my ......hunger.
What now, Jon?
Presently it's ancient Egypt. I now have four artifacts. An Egyptian collector/dealer in Canada recently took another trip to Egypt to procure more museum quality items. He buys these items from another private collector.
The items that I purchased are from ancient tombs near Luxor, which is why they're in good condition. None of them were restored, they remain "as is"
You've already seen the stone statue of the cat goddess Bastet, circa 14 AD. - - and the kohl cosmetic jar with Bastet on the lid.
The statue of Bastet is large and heavy, and the color is much more faded in real - - but her eyes mesmerize me. I love that statue.
I now have a stone carved kohl jar with Falcon God Horus, circa 15th AD.
And a sacred scarab beetle amulet from the 13th century. Mounted on a brass pendant in the 1920s.
The 'snakes' at your home will be an improvement to the snakes at that facility...i.e. Dragon Lady...for starters. Having to leave a call light on for an hour when you're bleeding is malpractice. That deserves a call to the Tennessee Dept. of Health. Maybe after you get the hell out of there you could whip up a detailed account of their incompetencies. Just a thought. Right now, put that energy in getting those radiation treatments which will grease the wheels to flee.
ReplyDeleteLove the Bastet. I've always admired them in museums. So cool to actually own the real deal. I have to live vicariously. Enjoy!
Good luck with this 'process', Jon. Getting the Hell out of Dodge is the goal!
Paranormal John
John, I'm hating this place more and more. If I stay here I'll eventually be insane or dead. I have absolutely no privacy, the food is appalling, and incompentencies abound.
DeleteHopefully I'll get the radiation treatments. If I finally drop Hospice, they'll have to kick me out of here.
I love the Egyptian items. So many centuries of history.
Praying all will go well with the radiation. You can't build yourself up with the regular loss of blood.
ReplyDeleteThose are all beautiful! I am fascinated by ancient Egypt. Do you watch any of the documentaries and programs?
I must have lost an enormous amount of blood since April - - and I feel like it. I'm very weak and tired. Nobody seems concerned about it.
DeleteAncient Egypt intrigues me. There are many videos about it on YouTube.
Hope your sinus infection clears up!
I, too, am more than a little concerned about the loss of blood. Can you order and take iron supplements, perhaps. I remember when Tom was undergoing radiation; how it sapped him.
ReplyDeleteThe falcon god is exquisite!
I'm really surprised/concerned that nobody cares that I've been losing blood since April. I think they give me a B complex with my morning meds...but doesn't seem to be helping. I think I should order an iron supplement from Walmart.
DeleteThe Egyptian items are really unique. I feel mesmerized when I hold them and ponder how old they are.
