GLIMPSES OF SUMMER

For a blessed moment or two, I want to abandon my medical woes and think about summer. I can only see glimpses of it through the window - - and tax my imagination as to what it is like.

So, dreamlike images of summer drift through my restless mind. My only solace is creating them in my imagination.

So, I delved into the fantastical (sometimes infuriating) world of AI (artificial intellegence). I know that this rampant technological medium doesn't thrill everyone - - but I enjoy it.

I "created" (an unecessary pompous word) at least fifty  images of summer......

......and I'm inflicting some on you.

Poultry passing time on a lazy afternoon

Sunflowers are never hesitant to grow. Hopefully she's not wearing that outfit on a brutally hot day.

The dog days of summer? Of course it refers to the star Sirius, but I always think of dogs. Hot dogs. The man is drinking iced tea, I suppose.

I initially wanted these children eating ice cream, but I thought cotton candy was more fun. Remember the county fair?

I made at least half a dozen versions of a summer storm. I liked this one the best. Bringing his horse to shelter.

What? Another summer storm? Swimmers, beware!

No thought of swimming - - just gathering shells along a walk on the beach.

Cooling off.

A Mediterranean scene. Perhaps she's enjoying the morning air, before it gets too hot.

I don't think they'll eat it, but curiosity always gets the cat.

August heat.

This is my favorite picture. I used to frequently walk through old cemeteries when I lived in the Missouri Ozarks. Stifling, humid summer afternoons, when sudden thunderstorms rendered the day to be almost surrealistic.

Peace and tranquility - - perhaps thinking of sailing into the sunset.....

The peach pickers. A rather strange summer scene, perhaps Renaissance inspired. The fruit doesn't look like peaches......but who knows?

A persistent group of crows in a cornfield.

Surf's up!

  1. Well done images :)
Sunflowers grow in vast fields in Ukraine, living symbols of Ukraine and its freedom. Slava Ukraine 🇺🇦

    1. I love sunflowers. When I lived in Texas they were very easy to grow. I never knew they were symbols of Ukraine. Abundant in Hungary, too.

  2. I love this medley! Good grief, that cotton candy scene is so realistic, my fingers practically feel sticky. This time my favorite is the man leading his horse to safety.

    1. The cotton candy image turned out really nice. Sorry for the sticky fingers. 😸 The horse and the storm is another good one, so dramatic. It's relaxing to make these images. Blueprints of my mind.

  3. Whatever gets you through is definitely the word of the day. Good for you for building your own escape hatch.

  4. My very favorite is the chickens eating the watermelon! Mine love watermelon and they eat it right down to the rind! Also helps them keep cool in this hot Texas weather!

  5. I like ice cream much better than cotton candy, but it can be really drippy on a hot summer day. AI is still a bit creepy to me but you have made some pretty scenes, Jon. :)

I love comments. Go ahead and leave one - I won't bite. But make sure you have a rabies shot just in case.
