WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE ?

I used to do these "fun" blog posts long ago before I got sick. The stress of being seriously ill knocked the fun out of me for a long time. Now I'm trying again.

Above the photo I'll give a brief hint about these famous people - - and will reveal who they are below the photo.

You might have already seen some of these pics, but I try to use rare photos ( I couldn't get the text centered - sorry about that)

Here we go!

Think of starry nights

Vincent van Gogh, age nineteen

Sweet elderly woman with pet dog. Famous in a wicked way.

Lizzie Borden, ax murderess

Famous star reluctantly getting a  hair cut.

Elizabeth Taylor

A nice clean cut young man who wants to go out with your daughter

Charles Manson

She was a famous actress in talkies, but also made numerous silent films.

Joan Crawford, I chose this because it's one of my favorite photos of her.

Aquaintance with a mouse

Walt Disney

A sweet British girl with her pet Guinea Pig named Peanuts

Princess Diana

Mug shot at age thirteen

Cher, arrested in January, 1959

There are two versions of this story. One is that she stole a friend's car and got arrested. The much more plausible version is that she took her mother's car for a joy ride and got arrested.

Can a future president be a hunk? (that's only a biased opinion)

James Garfield

She has a perfect aim

Sharpshooter Annie Oakley (Phoebe Ann Mosey) Not bad looking.

Almost saintly....

Mother Teresa

Could be a psycho

Alfred Hitchcock

Could be a First Lady

Barbara Bush

Can a commy be a hunk?

Joseph Stalin  1902

Can a commy be repulsive?

Adolph Hitler  World War I

Let's end with an easy one. Very popular in the political world.

Eleanor Roosevelt

I have a lot of unusual photos in my files. It was difficult to choose.     Jon

  1. Have you ever heard that Lizzie Borden didn't do it?

These are interesting photos. Everyone was young and sweet at one time.

    1. I read a lot of literature about Lizzie Borden and am positive that she was guilty. She hated her father for his harsh restrictions and despised her stepmother - especially because her father was giving the stepmother's family a lot of money and even purchased a house for them.
Lizzie even bought poison and tainted their food but none of them died.
She burned the dress that she was wearing on the day of the murder. Showed no empathy when her father and stepmother were murdered. She was hateful and cold hearted.

  2. These were quite fun! :)
Thanks. I needed that. Been a rough week and now I have a nasty head cold.

    1. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I had a really rotten week, too. Health issues and lots of stressful things. Head colds are horrible! Rest and take care.
      Maybe a vaporizer and soup?

    2. Don't have a vaporizer and don't even have a humidifier anymore because I gave mine away thinking I would be moved before winter. *sigh* I have beef stew. That's the closest to soup--lol! But it is good. Sounds like we've both had a rough week--stressful things and health issues. This too shall pass, eh? ;)

  3. That was fun. The only one I'd have got without help was Eleanor Roosevelt. Thanks for a few minutes respite. And the funny captions.

  4. I love these sorts of exercises, Jon! Unfortunately, I was only able to name 6 correctly. Loved Liz Taylor's expression; I was always inexplicably drawn to her and knowing more about her life.
I hope you'll this sort of thing again!

    1. You did really well for getting six of them. I thought the Charles Manson one was funny. Doing these type of blog posts always cheer me up. There will be more in the future. Thanks, Myra.

  5. I enjoyed this post a lot. Somee of the people are one's I've been interested in for years.
Stalin...name at birthIoseb Besarionis dze Jughashvili, quite a mouthful. Born in Georgia, a territory he put under starvation through edits later.
I read a story about Alfred Hitchcock...it was called 'his elevator conversations'...apparently at NBC during his series there, when he would get on a elevator with someone, if there were people on the elevator, he would shift whatever they had been talking about to "And suddenly, there was blood all over, and she was crying for help..." when the elevator door opened and they got out, the previous conversation would resume.
A charming picture of Mrs Roosevelt...one of the most influential 'first ladies' ever.
Nice post, Jon. Hope you are doing well.

    1. I'm glad you enjoyed this, Mike. I don't know a thing about Stalin but I liked the photo.
Hitchcock was really unusual (weird?). I never heard the elevator story. I watched a few documentaries about him on YouTube.
I always liked Eleanor Roosevelt. She was a fascinating independent thinker.

  6. This was fun! The only pics I've seen before are Manson and Eleanor. The others were new to me. Never knew that about Cher. I can almost see her giving the camera the finger in that one! LOL! More please!

    1. I heard that years later Cher denied ever being arrested. Her mother got angry and made the shot public. That's kind of funny.
I always have fun doing these posts so there will definotely be more.
I never dreamed that I'd think Garfield and Stalin were cute.
      *smile*

  7. This was a fun post, Jon, and I actually got more correct guess than not. In some cases, the images belied what the individual grew up to accomplish and many did not do good deeds. And, from what I have read, Borden did the deed, sadly.

    1. I've read a lot about Lizzie and definitely think she was guilty. Some say that her sister Emma did it - - but she was out of town.
I'll have more of these posts in the future.

  8. This is such a fun post. I have to admit that most of them I did NOT recognize.

The Annie Oakley pic made me smile - it remined me of when I used to target shoot at the gun club years ago that was my nickname. lol
