First of all, I really appreciate all of you who read my updates and are genuinely concerned about my health issues and current (miserable) medical adventures. It means a lot.
Right now I don't have any new updates, but I'm sure I will soon.
I'm forgetting the present and taking you back long ago.....
.....to those reckless, wild, dangerous times when I was haunting the midnight streets of Hollywood.
I recently found an ancient photo in my phone files - - damaged, faded, and nearly forgotten.
On a whim, I decided to try regenerating it on AI .....and got a near-perfect result. The photo is only restored - - not changed at all. It looks more clear and the color is better. I've resurrected the past!
This is me on Hollywood Boulevard, probably age twenty. The photo was taken by my friend (let's say fleeting companion) John, who was an actor. At that time he working on an important film. It's a famous film which cost 13 million dollars to make, but was a flop at the box office.
Why won't I reveal the title? Because you'd cunningly figure out my age.
John took me on the set while they were filming. He was a fascinating person, but was also a hardcore druggie. That's unfortunately why things didn't work out.
Many years later I happened to see an interview with him on television. It was a weird feeling.
But you don't want to hear my prattle, do you? Long ago secrets.....midnight confessions.
I always look back with astonishment. It was seemingly a different world then - - and I was a different person.
Definitely a drifting midnight cowboy, who haphazardly wandered from one incredible adventure to another......
......never expecting the bitterly wicked future.
Jon, with luv 💚
BTW
I still have that hat, but it's unwearable.
Jon, while I avoid commenting on posts with AI images, this one was an exception especially when you explained the circumstances. My aversion to AI imagery is a preference for images done by people hsing their own creativity and imagination.
ReplyDeleteI've discovered that it isn't easy to make AI images - - it is a form of creativity - - but they are used far too often for fact, duping people into thinking the images are real (they are very frequently used on YouTube).
DeleteI indulge it for relaxation and an unusual form of what I think is creativity.
The photo of myself is absolutely real but only retouched and enhanced to have a clearer look.
Just wanted to thank you again for the card - - which helps cheer me up, knowing that you care.😸
DeleteYou're welcome, Jon, and glad to know it arrived and that you enjoyed it. It seems that many people think sending cards, notes and letters is passé ane they rely on emails and texts—it's not the same to me or the recipient.
DeleteI love that picture of you. Now I won't be able to sleep tonight because I want to know who John was and the name of the movie.
ReplyDeleteI admittedly like that photo of me, too. I hate to be mysterious - - the movie used music by the Beatles. John wasn't a famous actor, he only played minor roles.
DeleteNot only will I sleep tonight, I think I'll take a nap after dinner.
DeleteFantastic picture of you Jon, you could have been an actor yourself. I have a feeling your title reveals all, and was a fellow countryman of mine ?
ReplyDeleteWe have emerged from madness and mayhem, tornado season is once again upon us, one plowed through our little town yesterday, gratefully no injuries.
Hugs,
Jo
That's my all time favorite photo. I liked to dress unusual back then. I loved that coat.
DeleteThe movie did have British actors and music. John only had a minor role.
How terrifying to have a tornado so close to home! I'm so glad you (and everyone else) are safe.
Take care. Jo.
Well, you got me on that movie, Jon. Of course, I thought Midnight Cowboy...but that was not a box office flop and there were no British actors (that I know of) and no Beetles music. I thought of Jonathan Kramer, too. A great small part in that movie. You can pick that up on YouTube. So... it remains a mystery. LOL!
ReplyDeleteHope you're feeling better. Sunny skies here in NE Ohio. There's been a flood alert for several days now? The computer said rain starting later today.
Paranormal John
I've seen Midnight Cowboy several times but it was long ago and I don't recall Jonathan Kramer. I'd like to watch that movie again. It's probably on YouTube. The novel was also good. I was surprised that the author, James Leo Herlihy, commited suicide.
DeleteAnyway, I hate to have the movie I mentioned remain a mystery 🙂
It is suddenly warm here 80 today with strong winds. Storms last night with a tornado watch, but nothing serious.
You can go to You Tube and look for Midnight Cowboy 'hustler scene'. Jonathan Kramer is in that scene (green shirt). Sadly, Jonathan died young and only made a few movies.
ReplyDeleteYes...you're keeping me guessing. Unfortunately, I'm not a movie buff so don't have many points of reference to pull from. I'm still wondering though.
The news said our area is in for some 'significant' rain this weekend. Just as long as there's no tornados, I can deal with it. Ok Jon, keep me guessing on that movie!!! LOL!
Paranormal John
Someone will eventually guess it. The movie started out Big Deal with all of the publicity, but soon it began to freeze with negative reviews. I honestly didn't like it, either.
DeleteI helped actor John pick out one outfit that he wore in a scene in that movie.
Severe storms are supppsed to develop in our area tonight (Friday).
I think I finally 'got it', Jon. LOL. If it's what I think it is....one of my favorite girl groups at the time made a brief appearance. They had a rather 'star war' type name. I could be wrong about this. Was your friend also a dancer?
DeleteParanormal John
I saw the movie looong ago, but don't remember any girl group. I only remember Sandy Farina.
DeleteNo, John wasn't a dancer.
Sandy Farina was in the movie I'm thinking of. If you go to the name of the movie at IMDB cast (all), you'll see a fictious group called 'The Diamonds'. This group also sang in 'Carwash'. Got the wrong 'John' apparently....or the wrong movie. LOL! This has been fun.
DeleteParanormal John
Love the look, Jon -- from your boots to the coat ... even your hair. Seasons.
ReplyDeleteI'm a total failure when it comes to movie trivia, so I really hope you'll take pity we, The Curious sideliners.
That coat was expensive, I bought it with my meager checks being a security guard. It did give me a Midnight cowboy look.
DeleteSomeday I'll reveal the movie....it was a crappy musical.
Jon, with all due respect you remind me sooo much of myself years ago. I did things that NO ONE would ever associate me with! Seriously, even YOU as long as you have known me would be be surprised! That IA creation is pretty close I mage.
ReplyDelete- Kim

DeleteSome of us hold secrets that would stun the unsuspecting. I think you and I were compelled to travel off the main road, and think for ourselves instead of what others want us to be.
DeleteI was always unique and an independent thinker.
I regenerated that photo of myself just to make the image clearer and the color brighter. It looks exactly the same as the original photo.
I believe that you are quite correct, Jon,
Deleteabout both of us being meant to travel off the main road and be ourselves!!
-Kim
I wish you would have shown the original, too.
ReplyDeleteWas it the Sargent Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band movie? Lots of hype. I thought that would be a good movie but it wasn't, even though I loved the Beatles and Bee Gees.
When I briefly ran away to Canada with a draft dodger, a guy going awol (both of them to avoid VietNam), and a girl who was afraid she was pregnant (can't run away from that--lol!) we ended up in the Toronto hippy area and all I can remember being played out the shop doors was the Midnight Cowboy theme song and Lay Lady Lay. Me? I was running away after being grabbed off the street, beaten, and raped on the way home from a beach dance (can't run away from that, either). I learned you can't escape your troubles. You carry them with you wherever you go. We were all back home in Minnesota within a week.
I tried to escape from reality num
ReplyDeleteerous times, but it follows like a shadow. You're right, Rita - - there's no escape.
I only used AI to restore that photo. It looks exactly like the original, only more clear and the color is better.
What about the movie?
Bingo! You got it.
Sssssh....it will be our secret.
There are many Johns in that movie. Are you going to tell us his last name? ;)
DeleteI'll think about it.......😺
DeleteOh Jon, your beauty is very evident! I can see why men and women were drawn to you! Something edgy is revealed but damaged somehow.
Delete🤔 Your so talented; played at many high end venues. What I would've given to hear you play the piano back during those early years!! If that cowboy hat could talk, a book deal would be made!
Thank you for sharing your amazing life with us! Your a natural storyteller.
