INTERLUDE

A quick, completely uninteresting interlude - - the type of blog posts people yawn over - - and I despise.

I strayed far from the mundane "norm" in my previous post and it was a success.

"ALMOST FATAL ATTRACTION" got more views than anything else I posted this year. Thank you!!!

People want to read interesting things - - they don't give a rat's ass about my enormous amount of daily meds....or how much I pee in my bedside urinal.

I know I'm never going to get out of here. I know I'll never have surgery on my arm. I know I'll never walk again. I'm merely doing time in Heaven's Waiting Room. Or Hell's Waiting Room.....and for crap sake, don't take this literally. I'm entitled to jest.

I've wasted many precious months in this useless shitass place. I'm trapped in a sickening stuffy room.....instead  of enjoying the gorgeous rustic acres that I purchased over ten years ago.

I'm surrounded by semi-corpses, all of whom are old enough to be my parents....or grandparents.

My "roommate", I discovered, is a WWII veteran. He must be near 100. Quiet most of the time, but sometimes gets very feisty. The nurses have to feed him. This morning he yelled

"I'm not going to eat this CRAP!"

God Bless him - - the guy knows what he's talking about.

The food here is appalling. I get sick just looking at it. This morning the bacon was nearly raw. No wonder I'm not gaining weight.

Give me McDonald's, Taco Bell, Dairy Queen, Pizza Hut - - - I'll devour every morsel of the junk food. And I'll gain weight.

And I love my own home cooking. Got photos to prove it.

When I was really sick, I simply cooked everything in a skillet - - sausage, peppers, onion, potatoes....

Or in the slow cooker

Homemade cheesecake with strawberries

The very first homemade pizza I ever made, crust and all. It might not look perfect....but it was good....and large!

Anyone remember my homemade wine? Again, it doesn't look like much but it was good. This is cranberry wine.

Didn't get a chance to use my tropical summer dishes this year. Polynesian probably isn't your "style" - - but it's mine.

Jon 💚 in a deliciously BAD mood

BTW

My next post is definitely going to be "GAY BARS, MURDER, and DANGER"......

I temporarily removed it so I could drastically revise it. It will blow your bloomers off and knock the curlers out of your hair.

My raw true confessions will definitely generate more viewers. 👹☠️😈

  3. Gay bars, murder and danger! Sounds like my youth!!! Sorry I haven’t replied lately, but I have read all your post. And I was horrified when I thought that you were going to stop blogging. There’s enough of us around that still tune in! I do hope that you improve. Think of you and your situation often. I wish we could have met when we were both younger. But then again, with my past and yours, the two of might not be here now! All the hugs in the world, your friend,
    Sam

    1. A cat supposedly has nine lives. I must have dozens of lives and an army of guardian angels, with all I've been through. I should finish writing my memoirs. The shocking things I did in my youth would burn a hole in this blog and render my readers unconscious.
I wish we could have known each other in our youth, Sam....we could have ridden off into the sunset together. Hugs.

  4. First of all, Jon, I agree that most people would rather read about "interesting things"; however, I personally prefer to read posts about subjects that I can relate to. Believe it or not, I can relate somewhat to what you are going through due to my recent personal experience with my mother. The feeling of helplessness and the inability to know exactly what to do about it is terrifying!

Your post about fatal attraction prompted a memory that I would truthfully rather forget about in my own life, but none-the-less a very interesting post!

As far as your upcoming posts, YES I would definitely be curious and would read them lol!

    1. I enjoy reading about people's every day lives, but I rreally like unusual personal experiences - - like hauntings or steamy secret affairs. Everyone has skeletons in their closets.
Most people can't relate to the kind of lifestyle I had in Southern Calif. long ago. It was a surrealistic world with endless adventures. I loved the danger!
Right now my goal is to go home before autumn...a miracle would help.
      Thanks, Kim!

  5. Being a foodie at heart, I've always been a bit awed by your expertise in the kitchen. (Remembering those feasts you created for your late parents.)
Is there a Door Dash (or Uber Eats) delivery service nearby? Imagine the intoxicating aroma of bags full of Taco Bell.
Meanwhile, I'll be looking forward to more True Confessions!

    1. I used to cook elaborate food and created reasonably good meals. Lately, being sick and living alone, my cooking is sub-standard and no longer unique. You have often mentioned recipes that would tempt me.
Unfortunately Door Dash etc. doesn't come to my rural area. I sure hope Walmart still delivers in the boonies.
More true confessions will come your way!

  6. Can't some of those delivery outfits deliver to where you are right there--right to your bed delivered by a nurse? Nurses order pizzas delivered. Why not to a patient who's not on a restricted diet? Go for it! :)
I have a bore-you-to-tears-blog coming out in the morning about the move saga. Sorry.

  7. Oh goodie! I need my bloomers blown off and the curlers knocked out of my hair (what's left of it). Your past and mine are similar, though I was not in Hollywood...Columbus, Ohio is not nearly as glamourous, but dear god what I found to get into!! How I'm still here is a mystery to me. How I managed to get through 4 years at college...considering ....you can fill in the blanks. I truly hope you can get home before autumn. Some kitties out there need a home, too. I'd LOVE to see your Halloween clock out for the season. You know that's one of my favorites. Bring on the True Confessions. I know they'll be great. Take care, John.
