We interrupt this blog with a musical interlude.
I made these videos a couple of years ago and thought it was an appropriate time to drag them out and dust them off.
I dislike the visuals that I put on the last half of the second one, but that's beside the point.
See you tomorrow night, Jon

Music for the new year. I always think of the British show when I hear the second one--lol! See you tomorrow! :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a great new year, Rita, filled with all positive things.
DeleteIt was supposed to snow last night, but all we got were a few flurries.
Very nice! Aul Lang Sign, I am not going to figure out to spell that, hits harder the older I get. Are you going to watch the NY apple drop? In our town it's an acorn. I live in the City of Oaks. Right now I am watching Star Trek Voyager and eating grapes. I think that would be a good way to ring in the new year, but I will probably be asleep. Can you believe the 2020 lockdowns were almost four years ago??
ReplyDeleteThe years fly by so quickly that I can't keep track of them. I'll probably watch the NY apple drop, but somehow it isn't exciting any more.
DeleteI think it's auld lang syne, but I'm not sure. Heck, I sometimes have trouble remembering my own name.
I'm not a Star Trek fan - but I'll eat grapes!
Not a Star Trek fan?? 😧
DeleteI'm full of surprises......
DeleteLovely!!!!! Both our favorites of mine, especially As Time Goes By.
ReplyDeleteI remember watching Guy Lombardo on tv on New Years Eve when I was a kid.
ReplyDeleteAnd now I'm in the mood to watch Casablanca.
Have a fantastic new year!!!
I don't think they ever saw him in person, but my parents used to talk about Guy Lombardo. That was a nicer, more elegant age.
ReplyDeleteJust hearing 'As Time Goes By' and it's cue the tears. I love your arrangement.
PS - I just remembered to pull the Auld Lang Syne cup out of hiding!
That was definitely a more elegant time, when the world seemed to be more normal.
DeleteI always had fun playing "As Time Goes By". It put me in a romantic Casablanca mood.
I still have my Auld Lang Syne cup and it always reminds me of you.
You play beautifully. I associate the song now with the British series by the same name. Happy New Year! May 2024 bring healing, strength and better health. You deserve it. Take care, Sheila
ReplyDeleteI've heard of the British series but unfortunately have never seen it.
DeleteI'm hoping for a brighter new year - - and wishing you blessings and all good things in 2024. Thanks for your comment, Sheila.
As time goes by with a Rag Time piano sound.. Wonderful! Hope 2024 is kind to all of us. At least nicer than 2023 was.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to hear from you! Time goes by so quickly that I can hardly keep track of the years.
DeleteI hope 2024 is a bright and positive year for you.
Happy New Year, Jon. I think I'll stay in tonight, my pension in this town is close to the marketplatz, I'll hear the celebrations.
ReplyDeleteHope the new year brings continued improvement for you, and peace and happiness.
I think it's best to stay in on New Year's Eve. The celebrations can be annoying. All the best to you, Mike, for a healthy and enjoyable new year, filled with pleasant adventures.
