TROIKA

Winter is reluctant to leave Tennessee. Tonight it's 15 degrees (Fahrenheit) with snow showers.

What better way to give you frostbite than to rehash one of my videos - - -

November, from The Seasons, op.37 by Tchaikovsky (also known as Troika).

I'm the pianist (who else?)

While you are enjoying (??) the sleigh ride, I'm absolutely dreading the next two weeks- which will be more grueling than anyone could imagine. I don't want to talk about it. Problems can multiply quickly and inevitably bury you.

If I happen to survive this month, there might be hope......

Please keep me in your thoughts.   Jon

  1. Never fear, Jon, because you are always in the thoughts of so many blogger friends. As difficult as your situation is especially with the lingering cold and winter weather, speaking for myself I am always glad that you have posted. OK, so that's not exactly the best choice of wording, but it's the times when you go dark and do not post that have me and others even more concerned. As for the weather, it's now 23 degrees in Nashua, NH, and snow showers. The music selection was a great choice and, of course, I would not expect any other pianist😉

    1. I amaze myself at the fact that I survived thus far. Unfortunately the unpleasant obstacles never cease.

  3. Me, too! (ok, three)
Seeing "Lone Wolf" on my reader never fails to quicken my pulse. Please don't doubt for a minute that you're in my thoughts and prayers.

  4. I hesitate to post lately because the problems are nearly insurmountable. If I'm able to survive this latest detour, I'll start writing longer posts again. As for now, I'm too stressed to care.
    Thanks for being there.

  5. I join the others in saying we look for you and are relieved when you post. I wanted to play the piano but my mother wouldn't let me. Won't get into why. So I taught myself and since I'm not a prodigy you know how that went! Rehash as many of these videos as you want, I love the music. What ever the next obstacles may be, know we are all here for you.

    1. What a shame that your mother impeded your desire to play the piano. Teaching yourself could be a frustrating endeavor.
My problems and obstacles never seem to end, and they are draining my strength (or what's left of it).
I'm glad you enjoyed the music.

  6. Hi Jon
Are the things ahead that are difficult for you appointments with Dr's and tests? If so, I don't blame you. I have a exercise nuclear medicine scan next week I'm dreading.
I hope it goes well for you, and is less horrible that thought. Let us, me, know how it goes. Like others, I think of you often, and hope for the best.
    Mike

    1. I'm havings tests in Livingston and Cookeville regarding my cancer, heart problems, and edema - - and follow-up appointments. As if that wasn't enough, I have other problems here at home. The stress is overwhelming.
Thanks for your concern, Mike, and take care.

    1. You're also in my thoughts. This past year has been a cruel one. I'm hoping that when spring comes we will have more peace and less stress. Hugs to you and the kitties.

  8. It's crazy that you are colder down there than we are up in Fargo! We had a couple of days below freezing last week but are now in the 40s during the day for over a week they expect--possibly low 50s. Spring weather and no snow. I swept the patio again. That is just crazy! I hope your weather warms up for you. I am so glad your furnace is working! :)

    1. The weather is really bizarre all over the country. I thought our cold weather was finally over, but it returned with a vengance. I'm definitely glad I had the furnace fixed! It's supposed to warm up in the 50s this week (with thunderstorms).

  9. Sending good thoughts and prayers to help you get through the obstacles. Hopefully winter will let spring in before too much longer. Take care, Sheila Y

I love comments. Go ahead and leave one - I won't bite. But make sure you have a rabies shot just in case.
