Note -
I posted this several years ago, when I was in a good mood and wrote funny captions. I'm rehashing it now, hoping it will evoke some laughs. (??)
Sorry for the over-sized photos and fonts - - I don't feel like editing.
Jon
That's me, with the Easter Bunny. It doesn't look much like me - but the photo was taken about 150 years ago.
I was an extremely timid kid, but was never a crybaby. I wasn't afraid of Easter Bunnies. Of course, Easter Bunnies were much more pleasant and non-threatening back then.

"Pleeeze! Do whatever you want with my brother - - but let me go!!!!"
Long after midnight, waiting for the train to Kasimov.
Four minutes after this photo was taken, the cat dropped dead from fright.
Don't let the costume fool you. He's either an escapee from Sing-Sing....or Bellevue.
Is that rabbit a HE or a SHE??? Whatever gender, it's scary as hell.

"The bunny smells kinda funny. I think he's dead."
The bunny isn't half as scary as that kid's hair. It looks like a Fruit Loop bird crapped on her head.
Rabbit of the Living Dead,
clutching a zombie baby
Jeepers Creepers!
It's Lucifer - - bunny from hell!!
Twenty years later the kid is doing remarkably well - - except for an intense aversion to carrot cakes.
Is that a carrot in your crotch, or are you just happy to see me?
(I'd hate to venture a guess as to what's in that trash bag)
FINAL SCORE
Canine: One
Bunny: Zero

In a funny bunny mood
I have no words! Haha
ReplyDeletePat/Texas
No need to have words. The haha is good enough.
DeleteThe last one is the least terrifying somehow...Good doggy, nice doggy...😅
ReplyDeleteIt was only terrifying for the rabbit.......
DeleteEaster and Spring are in the air.
ReplyDeleteLike you I was not a cry baby, at least not when my paternal granma (her 12 kids my dad, his 5 sisters and 6 brothers called her Ma) would take me to get Easter photos taken with Mr Easter Rabbit at Bullocks Dept Store in Santa Ana. Ma would then treat me to a hot fudge sundae at Bullocks’ Estrella Room restaurant for being well behaved.
I always wondered why the other kids cried and carried on as they did, visiting Mr Easter Rabbit can’t be that bad, you can even get a hot fudge sundae out of it !
Thank you for this whimsical post and past memories :)

I don't know why there are so many cry babies nowadays. I was very timid but never cried.
DeleteI wish I would have gotten a hot fudge sundae! And at Bullocks!
My cousins took me to see the Easter Bunny. We walked downtown in New Brunswick NJ.
My maternal great grandmother had 12 kids - - 8 girls 4 boys.
Glad you enjoyed this.
I'm so glad you posted this once more, Jon. Color me, still giggling.
ReplyDeleteI was weary of depressing posts.
DeleteI decided to put some color in Easter.
When I reread these, I thought they were reasonably funny.....😸
Thank you! I needed that! I never got the opportunity to meet the Easter Bunny. I only had the joys of an obese Santa with liquor on his breath and half out of it. Actually, I couldn't blame him. And Mr. Carrott...oh my! Come hop down this bunny trail...but leave that trash bag behind! You were a cute kid, Jon. Truly, we could have been twins at that age! Thanks again for the laughs. I think it was much needed for all of us.

I only saw the Easter Bunny twice. My cousins would walk with me downtown to the department store. Those were the good ol' safe days when kids didn't worry about getting abducted and murdered.
DeleteThe Easter Bunnies nowadays are horrible enough to scare adults!
I'm glad I was able to provide some laughs (Mr. Carrott....)
These are always funny to see...in a rather sad way. The poor kids.
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter, Jon! :)
It is rather unnerving to see the kids so hysterical.....but those bunnies are really creepy!
DeleteEaster should be a lovely, uplifting time - - instead of Halloween!
Thanks for the laughs. :)
ReplyDeleteMy blog posts are often depressing. I thought it was time to have some humor.
DeleteWell those Easter bunnies look frightening enough, the poor kids 😄
ReplyDeleteI admit they made me smile !
Jo
Those bunnies are frightening enough to scare adults - - but I'm glad they made you smile.
DeleteThank you so much. When I really needed a laugh, here you are!!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I provided what you need. We all need a laugh now and then...and I require more laughs than ever!
DeleteSeeing this post had me wondering if my parents actually took my brother any myself to see an Easter Bunny at a local store when were growing up. I have no memory of this experience or even of a Santa visit. Perhaps the visits were less memorable as some of these certainly were for the children?
ReplyDeleteWell, at least you don't have any horrible memories of being terrified by an Easter Bunny. I remember seeing the Bunny two times....and I wasn't scared.
DeleteBTW
Thank you for the sweet Easter card, which I received this morning. It was a nice surprise. I hope you and Patrick have a beautiful Easter.
