WELCOME TO APRIL

It's just after midnight and April has arrived!

Unfortunately it's freezing tonight. April has arrived with a hard frost which undoubtedly will kill all the fledgling blossoms on the trees. Same thing happened last year and it completely ruined spring.

As a devout pessimist, I'm almost reluctant to report that I (finally) have some good news.
If I mention anything good, something bad is likely to happen.

My car is running again - - and I fixed my computer!!

Big *SMILE* inserted here

Last week my cousin Saint Nancy drove me into town so I could buy a new car battery and other stuff.

I changed the battery terminals, fixed a few wires, and replaced the old battery.
So far, everything is working.

I had to do hours of online research (and multiple hit and misses) before I was finally able to fix my laptop.

I'm breathing a big sigh of relief, but this isn't the end of my problems.
The other night I was so overwhelmed with stress and anxiety that I thought I was having a heart attack. I took a couple aspirin and had to go to bed.

That photo of Scratch (above) was taken years ago at my parent's house in Odessa, TX. I think she was only about a year old then (she's 13 years old now).

Today is Bosco's birthday. He's five years old.
I had Bosco since he was first born. He was such a sick kitty that I didn't expect him to live. He still has some health issues but seems to be doing fine.

This was Bosco (in Texas) when he was a scrawny, sick kitten.

Here's Bosco when he was about two years old. It's one of my favorite pics of him. He's even bigger and heavier now.

It's nearly six months since Scruffy died and it still upsets me so much that I fall apart whenever I think of it.

I haven't had time to read blogs or reply to comments but hopefully I'll get back on track soon.
Thanks for being there.

  3. No thanks necessary, my friend … I wouldn't miss it for the world! So glad to hear your perseverance paid off. (Tho' I'd rather endure a root canal than do research - ha!) Unfortunately, I totally 'get' your feelings about Scruffy. Caraleigh's been gone 6 years now and my heart still aches something awful.

  4. Hi Jon,

It's seems like April suddenly appeared. Winter is over for another year and I'm glad to see signs of spring emerging. That's good news about your car being fixed, along with those pesky computer issues. Stuff like that makes your nerves bad - which can lead to those lovely panic attacks. I get them too ...

Happy 5th Birthday to Bosco !

  5. OMG! That's awesome news! Whoohoo! Hey, bad things always happen eventually so grab the good stuff and celebrate them with great joy!! :)

My Karma was a scrawny, bony, hungry, sick kitten, too. Was always focused on food and grew to be quite a large girl. I still miss her.

  7. I was in Greece where there are many stray cats. I think there's something healing about restoring them to health. Don't want to push your luck with the car, but have you thought of visiting a cat rehoming place at all? They are quite good at de-stressing. In fact, I'll say this about cats - they don't seem to suffer much from stress themselves.
