RAIN-DRENCHED MONDAY

The last Monday in October - dreary, lethargic, immersed in Noaharcian downpours.
Noaharcian?? Yes, skeptics, there is such a word.

My initial plan to make the perilous drive to town was thwarted, and I couldn't care less. I'd rather stay home - sipping a hot cup of tea and wondering where the hell October has gone. My favorite month passed by so quickly that I hardly had time to enjoy it.

The days, weeks, months, seasons seem to race more quickly every year - leaving me breathless trying to catch up. I find myself wishing to reverse my existence, play it again in slo-mo so I can savor every minute.

Yesterday (Sunday) was a rare rainless day - mild and mellow enough to invigorate my withered soul and inspire me to grab my El Cheapo digital camera. I wandered outside, haphazardly capturing the day that surrounded me.

The foliage is slow in turning autumnal colors this year, but when I trekked through my backyard forest I was happy to see that the trees are more colorful than they were a few days ago. They should peak around Halloween.

I'm having ENORMOUS problems with Blogger today. Had extreme trouble uploading photos, my blog post disappeared twice, and I keep getting numerous error messages.

To say that I'm exasperated would be an understatement.

Methinks the Halloween Blogger Gremlins are hard at work.....

                     Cheers, Jon

  1. Pretty colors! Iowa got all that Tennesee rain yesterday. It rained all day! And was the bone chilling cold with wind that we love in this Mid-western Prairie state. It is cold today as well, but at least the sun is out. I agree, the Month has been moving by too quickly this year. I'm sure if I was still a hunter, it would fly by even faster. ( Hunting season was always over too quickly.)

  2. Thanks for stopping by my blog. We enjoyed watching those kittens grow. I agree the months pass quickly. Hope things get better for you soon.
    Take care, Sheila

  3. Gorgeous! Between doctors' appointments and caring for Tom, I hardly know what day it is, much less what month. If you discover a method to reverse your existence (in slo-mo), I'll buy the first ticket to ride!

  4. I do not like winter, I like spring. I swear winter lasts twice as long as spring. Thanks for sharing these beautiful photos, Jon. Stay warm!!

  5. Wow, in spite of the rain your pics are beautiful! We have had rain storms on an off - Monday was pretty ugly actually, but rain storms usually are I guess.

I always have to laugh when you talk about your "El-cheapo" digital camera - my dad always used to use that word when I was growing up. LOL!

  6. Agreed Jon, where DID this month go? It has whizzed by and this last week was rainy and windy so staying indoors with hot tea was my plan as well. The foliage in your yard was more colorful than some spots here, but the sunset was outstanding so you and the cheapo camera did well. I have been in a bit of blog slumps lately so catching up soon.
