NOTHING

You might want to travel in a one-horse open sleigh.....or maybe not.

(My AI pic)

I'm watching the news - - marveling in abject horror at all the catastrophically stricken places that got 90 feet of snow, minus 75 degree temperatures.....and massive 852 vehicle pileups on ice-laden highways - - where they shouldn't have been driving in the first place.

And here I am, imprisoned in RehabHell, in Gainesboro, TN. Gainesboro (on Saturday) received about two inches of snow. This morning (Monday) there was another inch.

Total: three. Inches.

The temperature is frigid. Today, a daytime high of 18 degrees (Fahrenheit). Tonight prediction of five degrees

Gonna be cold all week.....probably no...snow.

A problem has befallen on me (what, only one??).

My secret stash of Walmart food is nearly gone. Because of the inclement weather, Walmart won't be delivering until Friday or Saturday.

I've been eating canned chili (from the can), canned roast beef, and....of course, tuna. And peanut butter.

Instead of bread, I'm using tortillas.

Cookies? I still like Keebler's chocolate-covered shortbread cookies with peanut butter. And Fig Newtons. Without peanut butter.

I would stash more, but my duffle bag isn't big enough.

I'm freaking out in this friggin' P.T. Rehab Prison, and it's no exaggeration. I don't trust anyone here. I fear that they will never let me out. They suspended my physical therapy, probably due to insurance reasons (that's only an uneducated guess). I'm in a profound depression.

That's why I keep writing these....blog....posts. It helps me maintain whatever is left of my sanity.

I'm not only depressed. I'm afraid. Of losing my freedom and sanity.

An Aside:

My roommate's insufferably talkative wife hasn't been here in two days, due to the bad weather (YAY!)

BUT

The nurses keep the curtains open. My senile (no exaggeration) gloommate keeps pulling the curtains to watch me (BOO!). Today, I tried to pee in the urinal and he kept gawking. So I didn't pee. I don't want to complain. I have enough problems.

It's just incredibly creepy...... and damn infuriating.

Everything in this godforsaken place is.....INFURIATING!!!!!

Jon, thoroughly disgusted

Sorry, I'm in a very BAD mood

PUSHING FORWARD

I still have the cold/flu that has been annoyingly lingering around here. I could aptly call it the Non Covid Malaise.

Sounds innocuous to me.

Another weekend is unfolding and two weeks will be left in November. Weekends are very slow here in Appalachian Alcatraz.

(you gotta admit I have a deliciously unique way with words......sort of)

Can't establish an absolute attempt to escape. Weekends here are maddeningly sluggish.

When I was compelled (forced) to sign up with Hospice at the end of March (that's when my insurance stopped coverage) Hospice people visited me at least four times a week - - eagerly waiting for me to expire.

When they established the fact that I wasn't going to croak, the visits dwindled. Three, two, now....one.

They might be here Monday or Tuesday. That's when I'll drop the Big Bomb about severing myself from them.

That's also when the prison gates will crank open......almost like Heaven's Gates where St. Peter will distribute your wings.

I'm ready to fly and never look back.

I really don't know what the heck is gonna happen, but we can hope for the best.

I DO know that Signature will desperately try to stop my flight to freedom by saying that I'm not physically sound.

 Don't doubt me.

Hell, at least I'm mentally sound - - which is more than they can say.

And I have Quality Home Care on my side. Which is a great relief.

I have an enormous amount of things here that I need to take with me. All the things that I bought, like the ancient Egyptain items. And many other things.

Don't start a sentence with a conjunction. You'll look like you're ignorant.

The storage cabinet in this room is full. I have at least three tote bags, six or seven duffle bags, assorted boxes.

Stuff accumulates.....in almost a year...

SO.......

I've been ordering food from the Walmart deli. Gives me some semblance of....freedom and resistance.

I won't be able to officially begin my escape until Monday or Tuesday.

I'm going to try to relax this weekend and look forward to positive things. I have to make it happen.

And I will.

Jon  ❤️

The turkeys want to escape, too!

BTW after the radiation treatments, my arm hasn't bled in nearly four weeks! Can hardly believe it!

I don't know how I'll get through Sunday, and I'm afraid of Monday....but I have every right to go home. I am not incarcerated and nobody has a legal right to hold me here.

IMAGINING OCTOBER

Well, my imagination is all I have left and I want to share it with you.

Medical updates and autumnal images mix as well as heaven and hell. First I'll give a brief medical update.

I saw the wound care doctor yesterday (Tuesday?). Usually there's an annoying entourage - - two doctors, a nurse practitioner, and an "assistant". Yesterday it was only my usual wound care doctor. No one else. The cancerous wound on my upper arm has shrunk condiderably, no bleeding at all for the past two weeks. Good news.

Another curious bombshell. The mysterious Cookeville doctor appointment on November 10th that nobody told me about has suddenly been canceled. Who canceled it.....and why? Halloween goblins playing tricks? This same thing has happened numerous times over the past months.

And, of course, I ask questions......and nobody knows.

A lot of nothing is known here. A lot.

A transition

I know nothing about this autumn 2025 nor anything about my house and property.

Probably never will. No, no.....let's not go to the unknown.

I'm zonked on medications that do not alleviate the pain.

I can only offer my personal imagination of autumn. I made at least 200 autumn AI images this year. It was nearly impossible to pick favorites.

Jon, ❤️

When you speak of this, and you will.........be kind.

I'm teasing you with "Tea and Sympathy".

"Listen to them, the children of the night. What music they make!"

Count Dracula to Jonathan Harker.

I like these images so much that it inspired a rerun.....from the 1897 novel "Dracula" by Bram Stoker.

Midnight journey to Dracula's Castle.

I've been having an interest in antique Halloween clocks, so I "created" some - - which were inspired by Paranormal John (who likes my "real-life" antique Halloween clock).

Midnight Hungarian Magyar duet with violin and mandolin.

Journey of the witch

Could be the witches' house

Telling ghost stories.....

October Eve

Midnight Rider

Danse Macabre

Autumn, stitch by stitch

And my real, genuine autumn clock

P.S.
Well, I've successfully published my reply to Carolyn's comment - - but my numerous attempts replying to Kim, John, Myra, Rita, Dorothy and Ron's comments have completely failed. Blogger Halloween pranks?

My apologies, Jon

Ron, you can steal any of my pictures  😸

HALLOWEEN WEEK

I'm certain everyone has noticed my drastic mood changes in my recent blog posts.

When I said that the phantom medical "experts" here are killing me with an enslaught of unecessary meds - ' I am not exaggerating.

They have doubled my pain meds....and added a mind-blowing dose of steroids.

I want this to be known. I am presently having alarming side effects. Mood swings, vertigo, extreme fatigue, memory loss, endless ocular migraines......anxiety.

I told the nurse about the side effects - - she gave me a dirty look.

I gotta get the hell out of here. My weekly plan was to leave Hospice.

They dropped a bomb on me today. They didn't tell me, of course, but I heard through my secret proverbial grapevine (got a text from the transport company).

They booked a mysterious doctor appt. for me in Cookeville on November 10th. I don't plan on being here. I plan to be home.

If it is a necessary appt. I can get transportation from home. I don't need to stay in this putrid prison.

Enough of this crappy update

It's Halloween week. The most beautiful time of year. I haven't seen one day of October.

Trying to get into a Halloweeny mood. For me it's a complete impossibility. I am drugged, trapped, suppressed.

For you, I have a humble offering. A Halloween video I made a few years ago. Using an old composition called Halloween Dance, written in 1908.

My YouTube videos usually get few views. This one got over 4,000 views. I had fun making it.

Best viewed full-screen

Another one of my Halloween videos, made long ago. The Bogey Wail, sung by Jack Hylton 1928.

Don't be afraid to comment. I probably, maybe won't....bite.

GLORIOUS AND FURIOUS

I don't know exactly how to write this, but yesterday (Tuesday) I found out some good news that is glorious and some other news that made me furious. I knew the furious news all along for the past six months that I've been here - - I'm not as dumb as I look. My intuition is almost always correct.

The wound care "team" has always come every Tuesday to tend to my three major wounds - - my hemorrhaging arm, the mysterious draining "wound" on my butt, and the continuous peeling dead skin on my legs....which are the leftover result of the severe edema that I once had (which now is gone).

The original "team" was only two people - - the wound care doctor, Andrea (I can't remember her surname) and her assistant, a (fat) nurse practitioner named Amanda.

The doctor Andrea is the only logical one. I never liked the assistant Amanda. Amanda is the one who did the biopsy on my arm last April which caused all the hemorrhaging when she hit an artery.

Amanda is also the one who continuously told me I'm going to die from the "mysterious" wound on my butt, although she never knew exactly what it was.

On top of all this, I have numerous weekly visits from Hospice team - the Grim Reapers - who are eagerly waiting for me to die, and keep reminding me of it. They are visibly disappointed when my vital signs are normal and I tell them I feel good.

I think I have been with Hospice over eight months, which is past the six month limit.

Anyway, the wound care team has changed. The doctor Andrea is still there - - but the weird assistant Amanda has vanished. There's another female assistant and another male doctor, both of whom seem to be new and still learning.

The male doctor is an annoying joker, whom I call Bozo. The wound care dr. Andrea doesn't seem to like him.

Is this confusing? Sorry. It's rather difficult to explain.

ANYWAY

yesterday the wound care doctor Andrea shocked me with some glorious news. I will no longer need wound care for anything except my legs.

The cancerous wound on my arm has shrunk significantly and no longer bleeds (!!!!) and the mysterious "wound" on my butt isn't cancer. It is merely moisture and some drainage from the colon surgery and radiation that I had two years ago.

This is indeed glorious news - - but I am really furious about all the people who were  intent to see me die.

My gut instinct told me they were wrong.

I unfortunately have to see wound care again next Tuesday ( I think 21st) to check the progress on my arm.

This post is much longer than I anticipated. Sorry about that, but I wanted to attempt to explain everything.

Could I be out of here before the end of October?

I was going to end this post here, but an incident happened last night.

Since I've been ordering food from the local Walmart, I decided to buy a small, inexpensive microwave that perhaps I could use.

It was delivered around 7:00 last evening.

IMMEDIATELY, JUST LIKE THE GESTAPO

The Dragon Lady social worker stormed into my room, shouting loudly. You would have thought I stole the Crown Jewels.

I was shocked.

"You can't keep that here!" she yelled. "You better return that to Walmart immediately!"

I was speechless but angry. I had to think fast.

"That's for my own personal use when I get home," I said, "And thank God Almighty you won't have any authority there."

When somebody bullies you, you have to bully them right back.

Then I shouted "I'll be dumping Hospice in a few days, so I can get out of here!"

She left the room, speechless.

I honestly don't know what's going to happen. I no longer need wound care or Hospice.

It's a perfect time of year to escape.

Please wish me luck. It's going to be difficult, but I have to do it. If I don't, I'll have HUGE regrets.

OCTOBER SUNDAY

Okay, let's get back to "normal" - - if there really is such a thing.

Instead of my (fantasticbeautifulimaginativecreative) AI pictures - - I'm going to enthrall, captivate, astonish, enchant, and beguile you with real genuine photos taken with my Samsung Galaxy phone from my hospital bed!

Could you ask for anything more? I'm so excited that I almost pee-peed in the bed.

That should get five comments on my blog instead of two. I have lately been sarcastic, insulting, rude, condescending, nasty - - which could possibly miff some ultra-sensitive people.

Lighten up. I've been through worse.

Do you know, I very seldom get the opportunity to use the archaic word "miff".

And, of course, being sarcastic, insulting, rude, condescending, nasty is part of my charm. You don't get a chance to read many blogs like this.

I secretly love all of you.

Maybe.

I know - - you're craving a medical update. Okay, here goes.

I had a (low) fever all week. Yesterday I slept a lot. The pad I keep under my arm, which catches the eternal bloody leakage from the bandages, was dry and clean all week - - no blood, no leakage.

Last Friday, one of the nurses changed the bandages. She said the cancerous wound was shrinking. And there was very little bleeding. No hemorrhages, no problems.

I should be on my knees thanking God. I'm still cautious.....but truly relieved, after six agonizing horrifying months!!!!!

Photos? Alright.

I am cursedly verbose.

I very seldom get the opportunity to use the archaic word "cursedly".

I'm still on an Internet shopping spree. An antique figurine - which would look good in my rural living room (if I ever see it again).

There's a couple in Florida who owns an antique shop with lots of lovely things. I bought several items from them. I was smitten by this snowy white owl and her baby owelets. It looks a lot better in real.

I probably already showed you my latest aquisitions from the Egyptian museum curator.

I'm holding a 13th century scarab beetle amulet, from a tomb near Luxor. It was mounted on metal for a neck chain in the 1920s.

I have two of these well preserved stone carved kohl jars. This one has the falcon god Horus, from a tomb near Luxor. These jars usually contained makeup or various cosmetics.
Made of stone, surprisingly heavy

Ok, I took a break and went to sleep. It's now Sunday evening.....I might have to change the title to Monday.

One more..."treasure"...

Unfortunately, I lost the information about this. Got it from a collector in Thailand. Originally from eastern Asia. Made of stone, approx. at least 400 - 500 yrs. old. It has been professionally cleaned. I love it - - amazing. They don't know exactly what type of animal it is - - wolf or dog.
I think wolf.

Wake up! There's more!

On Friday I was in a "resistant" mood. I was appalled at the crappy food they are forcing us to eat. I get nauseous just looking at it.
SO......
I ordered some food from the local Walmart deli. Don't scoff. It's sure as hell better than the shi-  crappy hospital food.
It was delivered in three hours. Could have been less, but it would be more expensive.
I bought an insulated grocery bag to carry the stuff in.

Got deli sandwiches, huge burritos, chimichangas, fresh deli soup - lobster bisque and clam chowder, lemonade, candy, dried fruit and nuts.

I immediately grabbed an Italian sub and devoured it. There was a really delicious spicy red relish that came with it. Everyone from the online reviews raved about it....and they were right.

Deli sandwich
Milo's lemonade - - made only with filtered water, real lemons, and sugar. No preservatives or artificial flavors. I could drink this forever.

Deli soup, candy assortment.
The "helpers" here heat the burritos and soup in microwaves.
The chimichangas are filling. The big burritos are filling but not quite tasty. They'd be much better with sour cream and salsa.
I have nothing but ketchup to put on them. Yuck, but better than nothing.

I am desperately trying to summon the courage to ask (or demand) to be discharged before the end of October. Signature and Hospice employees are going to blow up with absolute fury.
They all want to keep me here completely dependent and helpless. They don't give a rat's ass about my property and house - - which I haven't seen in six months.

If I dump Hospice, Signature will be forced to discharge me within 24 hours. They will all conspire together to, somehow, keep me here.....but Hospice is paying the bills. If I dump Hospice, my insurance will no longer cover Signature Health Care.

Perhaps I could lie and say that I'll only stay home until the end of the year....
Six months ago I went to a hospital for back and edema problems.......
Look at the nightmare I'm trapped in now.
I could reveal a lot more, but I'm too exhausted

Jon 💜 thoroughly exhausted

I still have Comment Moderation, which I absolutely despise.
P.S.
Comment Moderation is a complete nightmare for me and doesn't work at all.
I find all your comments, I approve them,  allow them to be posted on my blog...and they completely vanish. They're not in spam or the trash.
It happens every time I publish a post.
I'm going to temporarily allow all comments. I don't know what else to do.
