I'm interrupting my enchanting and enthralling previous post, so I can give you a sunny update. A rare change from my cloudy updates.
Yesterday afternoon, Jennifer - my social worker here in Gainesboro - showed up in my room unannounced.
I was surprised, since she's always difficult to find. First, she went over all the medications that I'm taking, among other things.
Next, she gave me the monthly required cognitive test (the test that most patients here fail miserably).
I passed the test with flying colors.
You're surprised, aren't you?
I admittedly have days that I can't remember my own name, but somehow I got 100 per cent on the test.
After the test I finally had a rare chance to bring up the subject of my intended transfer back to Jamestown.
To my astonishment, she wasn't opposed to the idea. I gave her Tira's phone number (the Dragon Lady at Signature in Jamestown).
Jennifer promised to call Tira, and to keep me updated on the situation.
That's great news, but....
I have no faith that anything will get done. Everything here is haphazard, chaotic, unreliable. I don't trust anyone.
and
there's always some problematic red tape that comes out of nowhere to thwart plans. Nothing in life is easy.
I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed. Accompanied with prayers.
and
an uninteresting occurence
I purchased yet another artifact from ancient Egypt.
Can't help it. It's an obsession. I've always had a passion for antiques - and especially for antiquities. I have a collection of Medieval crosses and rings.
Now it's ancient Egypt. My acquisitions are genuine. I do a lot of research. I also know two archaeologists, one in Ukraine and the other in Canada. The Canadian is an Egyptologist. Most of the artifacts I obtain are from areas by Luxor/Egypt, often finds from ancient tombs.
My latest artifact is called the goddess Holly Owl amulet. I have two owl amulets. This one is approximately from 14AD and was in a private collection. Made of stone with the typical Faience glaze.
The face is worn away, but the features are still reconizable.
Jon, somewhere along the Nile
I'm still having trouble with blogger. Half of my posts disappear, also some of my replies to your comments vanish. Frustrating.

I love the Owl amulet! I hope the ancient Gods will bestow upon you continued goodness and peace and healing powers. I also would never think you'd fail a cognitive test. Your sharp as a tact and razor whip sharp yet Jon.
