BLOGGER STRIKES AGAIN

As if I didn't have enough problems with Blogger, I'm presently plagued with a new "glitch".

I wanted to respond to your comments on my previous post, but the "REPLY" icon no longer works.
I exhausted my (very) limited technical knowledge to remedy this, but all attempts failed.

Somebody (who commented anonymously) told me that some of their previous comments disappeared, and they thought perhaps I blocked them.

I've heard similar complaints from other people whose comments disappeared. One lady (whom I really liked) got furious when she thought I deleted her comment. She never returned to my blog.

I never block people from my blog and I honestly can't recall deleting comments (but I always delete spam).

I also always allow anonymous comments. Some really nice people have commented anonymously (including a few of my relatives).

Anyway, I hope these exasperating problems with Blogger get resolved, but I have little faith.

Cheers, Jon

  1. Jon, in the past few days I have noticed a change in the way comments are left. It seems that many blogs are now requiring comments to be approved, something I have never done. I do check blog comments every couple of days and immediately delete any that are obviously spam. Unlike yourself, I have never elected to reply to comments within the blog.

  2. I feel you! One of biggest problems with Blogger is that it has NO HELP other than reaching out to OTHER BLOGGERS who have had bad issues. Have you checked out the Blogger Help site (button) to see if or how other Bloggers (usually "techies") fixed similar problems? I have done that on occasion - sometimes it helps.

  3. Oh rats! I'm sorry, Jon. All the same, it's comforting knowing you're out there and trying.

  4. BTW, I just tried to reply to your last comment on my blog and noticed this crap apparently added to my blog: "This site is protected by reCAPTCHA and the Google Privacy and Terms of Service apply" crap? WTF is THAT all about! I know that we Bloggers have had problems in the past BECAUSE of "monster" Google, so perhaps it has to do with them??

  5. I just saw this on another blog today and copied it to share with you. Maybe it will help.
"I saw the above on an old comment about the same problem occurring back in 2019. It explains why the option “cross site tracking had to be turned on in your browser for embedded comments. For those still having problems, perhaps a search on “third party cookies” and your browser may get things working again."

  6. Perhaps you have been "shadow banned" because of your "I don't give a F@$k" posts. Then again, I have had to wrestle with Blooger earlier and had a frustrating time with it. Lately, it seems to be working. Possibly because I'm not as heavy an influencer as those millennials on tik tok. If I'm lucky, I get 24 hits on my blog posts... even with "advertising" on Facebook. Lucky you having 300 his on the cat one ( I missed it, so I shall eagerly await a repost in the future.) Having a job kind of sucks as I don't have any time to read let along post on any blogs. ( including mine!) I have to remind myself that there is money or something at the end of the rainbow.... theoretically.

    1. Lots to typos. Sorry.I should have proofread it before posting.

    2. If it is of any solace, I too have encountered these problems with Blogger. Eventually they go away. I probably should utilize my Word Press account but I find it too confusing and restrictive. For all of Blogger’s glitches I still feel more comfortable with Blogger.

I love comments. Go ahead and leave one - I won't bite. But make sure you have a rabies shot just in case.
