SPRING HAS SPRUNG

My previous post is probably the longest one I've written. This post will be the shortest.

I'm too cold to write. Or to think.
My fingers are too numb to type.

These photos were taken yesterday, which - rumor hazzit - was the first full day of spring.

My thoughts?
If I never see another winter it will be too soon.

Three days ago it was 70 degrees and the trees were blossoming. Then winter returned and took a dump on Tennessee.

 Somewhere in my back yard

 It kinda looks like Christmas

The tree in the center was covered with blossoms - which are now encrusted in ice.

  1. Hell that's nothing. We got another 18" yesterday. I was going to decorate for Easter, but still looks like winter.

    1. Hmmmmm...... 18 inches can be brutal (*smile*).

I'm thinking about putting the Christmas decorations back up.

Sorry, but the pictures look beautiful to me. But then, I like winter. I don't live up in Fargo for nothing--LOL! ;)

    1. Actually, the pictures are beautiful. What I hate the most is the cold.
But - compared to Fargo - my neck of the woods probably looks like Jamaica.

  3. Spring has sprung, but winters hanging on it seems. Is this from that Nor' easter pounding the East Coast ?

You'll never believe it, but yesterday a wildfire erupted not far from here. With all that snow ... and still fire and smoke. Unbelievable really.

  4. That Nor'easter seems to be affecting a lot of places. We didn't get much snow, but I'm thoroughly tired of the cold temperatures. It's depressing when the spring blossoms are freezing to death.

I've never heard of a wildfire during the snowy season. That's amazing - and frightening.

  5. Mother Nature has a cruel sense of humor.

Friends of our who live in the mountains of NC got snow on the first day of spring... and their furnace caught fire! Sometimes, you just have to laugh. Beats the alternative.

I hope spring comes to your neck of the woods real soon.

  6. My only hope is that it will thaw out by the 4th of July.

Obviously your friend's furnace was finally rebelling from the winter cold.

  7. the pictures of the snow are beautiful. with that being said, i'll quote you. "If I never see another winter it will be too soon." i'm ready for sand and surf, myself.

  8. I never knew the winters would last this long in Tennessee. I suppose I was spoiled from living in Calif. and Texas.
Sand and surf sounds good to me!

  9. Jon, your photos are stunning. You know we don't get to see that white blanket here unless the Styrofoam factory blows up. But yes we do get cold --especially as I get older. Wearing a big jacket in the kitchen right now.

    1. Geo - we must be twins. I'm presently wearing a quilted "shirt"-jacket here in the kitchen tonight. It's in the 30's but the snow has melted.

By the way - Styrofoam irritates me much more than snow!

  10. Ice encrusted blossoms, what a strange idea. We had late snow too. Annoying but it did go after a couple of days.

I love comments. Go ahead and leave one - I won't bite. But make sure you have a rabies shot just in case.
