THE BOGEY WAIL

I made this video over two years ago and almost forgot about it until I rediscovered it yesterday on YouTube. I think it's perfect for Halloween.

The Bogey Wail
Jack Hylton. vocalist
recorded in 1929

If you watch it full-screen, you'll get a better view of the spooks.

Speaking of spooks, here's Bosco
and me.

Note:
I've been posting frequently this month because October is my favorite time of year. I haven't yet responded to all of your comments on my previous post Creepy Cinema, but I will.

    1. I'm glad you enjoyed my spooky video, Valerie. The weather has suddenly turned spooky, too. It's freezing today!

  2. That is a perfect background music for trick or treaters. We are supposed to have rain all day tomorrow, so we will see how many spooks we get. Bosco's black against the orange is a great contrast. Fun to see a picture of you, too! Happy Halloween!

    1. We had rain all day today (it's Halloween) and for tonight - snow flurries are predicted!

  3. I think I remember this with my senior brain--LOL! Brings to mind all the cartoons we watched that had rather spooky and scary things in them--but in cartoon form they never seemed frightening. After all, nothing bad could happen to Mickey, right? ;)

    1. I took most of my video clips from those old Walt Disney "Silly Symphony" cartoons. They were great!

  4. Well, dang! I tried leaving a comment this afternoon via my cell phone, but feared it didn't take. So glad you shared this again... perfect for Halloween Eve!

  5. I have enjoyed your Oct posts this month Jon. Thanks for sharing your film knowledge because even if some of the films are not for me, still enjoy learning about things. Nice to see you out on your porch and with a 🎃. There’s nothing spookier than a black cat on Halloween. I used to have one too and her name was Sambuca.

    1. I like the name Sambuca! It was nearly impossible for Bosco to stand still by that pumpkin. I took the photo VERY quickly.

    1. Geo - those were the dancers who passed the audition. You should have seen the rejects!

  7. Jon, your video is soooooooooooo great! Loved it! Wow...so impressive! Honestly, it looks professionally done. My favorite part was when the skeletons come out of the stairs (as if they're coffins) while Mickey Mouse is climbing them. How clever!

    Happy Halloween, my friend!

    Have a spooktacular day!

P.S. Fab pictures of Bosco and you. Don't you just love Autumn and Halloween!

  10. You did a fantabulous job with that video. It's obvious you were having fun doing it.

Happy November? I'm sorry your favorite month has come to an end, but maybe if you don't flip the page on the calendar, you can pretend... Never mind. It sounds like winter is coming at you full-speed-ahead. (sigh) After the hot hot hot summer we had, I was hoping for those more fall-like temperatures to linger a bit longer...

    Have a super weekend, cowboy.

  11. Susan - I would love to pretend it's still October, but winter made an unexpected entrance. It was 24 degrees last night and (okay I'll admit it) I was ALMOST yearning for summer. Only a few weeks ago it was 90 degrees!

I did have fun making that video and I'm glad you enjoyed it. Take care.
    And welcome to November!
